1. Subscription

Signal34 offers subscription accounts for personal or business use. Time limited free trial accounts are available to test the functionality. Personal and business subscription fees are charged based on the number of licensed user seats within an account. Subscription fees can be paid either yearly or monthly for accounts with 12 or more users. For accounts with less than 12 users we only charge in yearly increments in order to minimize credit card transaction costs. Subscription fees are charged at the beginning of each pay period. The total account subscription cost is $20.00 per year or $1.67 per month for each user seat license. Subscription fees are non-refundable. Account subscription options can be accessed from the top right-hand action menu: Manage Subscription.

We process secure credit card payments via Stripe, a recognized, industry leading secure credit card solution provider. Your credit card data does not touch our servers. For back-up purposes you can export your account data and save it locally in standard JSON format. You can also fully delete your account at any time. We will automatically email you a back-up copy of your account data prior to account deletion.

2. Sign in and Sign up

Users can Sign up with their Google or Facebook accounts or with the classic email-password combination. For business accounts we encourage the use of email and password credentials only.

When an account is created using a Google or Facebook account, we fetch only the email registered under that account. If at a later time you wish to switch to using that Facebook or Google account email and a password as credentials for signal34.com access, then you can use the "Forgot your password?" link from the Sign in dialog.

To reset the password:

     a) Enter the email that you used for Facebook or Google at signal34.com account creation time.

     b) Click the Submit button.

     c) Check your inbox email for a message fromsupport@signal34.com having the "RESET PASSWORD" title.

     d) Open that link in a browser and reset your password.

     e) A popup dialog with the message "password changed" will be displayed and you will be redirected to the LogIn page where you can Sign in with your new email-password combination.

You will still be able to log in with Facebook or Google but also with email-password combination.

3. Adding content

Content items can be added by using the “Add Content” drop-down action menu located on the top-right hand.

A content item must contain a unique location which can be anything from a free text entry to a URL, a torrent link, a network path, a local folder or a file path, etc...

… remember that the only constraint regards to adding content is that the Location field must be unique.

All the remaining fields are optional but very valuable for increasing the ability to access, explore and recall content items of interest. The optional: title, tags, rating and notes fields associate essential metadata to each of your content items. This metadata plays a key role in the ability to explore, search and find content items.

4. Search

Signal34 search is primary a tag base search but also it supports advanced search features such as: tag exclusions, date filters and full case-sensitive text-based search, including special characters and spaces within location, title, tags and notes fields. It can sort search results alphabetically, by time or by rating.

Our tag base search is unique due to its type ahead filtering, use of unlimited number of tags, full drill-down, real-time metadata intersection for search space faceting and exploration through intermediate query result visualization implemented in a simple, intuitive, ergonomic and mobile friendly interface design.

To access the advanced search functionality, click on the triple dot button on the right-hand side of the search box.

The main search page is loaded immediately after Sign in. When a new account is created, the main search page contains only one link to this HowTo page.

Content items without tags can also be easily listed by using the “Untagged” top-right action menu item. Note that in this mode tag-based search is disabled.

In addition, Signal34 application offers some unique management tags functionality through the “Manage Tags” action menu item. This menu opens a page where global tag operations such as: deletion, rename and tag merge are available.
